Harry Potter = King of Darkness

Okay, what gets me isn't really that Harry Potter is considered the "king of darkness", and not that the Pope has an exorcist but that the Pope has a CHIEF exorcist! LoL!!

CBC: Dark Lord isn't Voldemort or the Devil, it's Harry!?

RIP Crocodile Hunter

Steve Irwin Killed
By Mike Baron
Sep 4, 2006

Steve Irwin, the world famous wildlife naturalist, has died in a freak accident on the Great Barrier Reef. Irwin was killed by a stingray barb which reportedly pierced his chest.
All indications are that Irwin, 44, probably died instantly when attacked by the stingray while filming a sequence for his eight-year-old daughter Bindi's new television series called "Deadly Sea Creatures".

Steve Irwin's final and unfortunately fatal confrontation with an animal in the wild occurred in shallow water at Batt Reef off Port Douglas on Monday morning, reports the Age.

Irwin was unconscious when the was pulled aboard his research vessel, Croc One. The crew made a frantic 30-minute trip to Low Isle, where an emergency helicopter was waiting, his Australia Zoo said in a statement.

The crew of the Croc One heroically performed CPR constantly during the dash to Low Isle, but Irwin was pronounced dead by the medical staff at about noon local time.

The BBC reported that this was only the second known fatality in Australian history from a stingray attack.

Irwin's television show The Crocodile Hunter won international acclaim and popularized the phrase "Crikey."

He won a global following for his daredevil antics but also triggered outrage in 2004 by holding his then one-month-old baby while feeding a snapping crocodile at his Australian zoo.

Later that year, he was cleared of charges claiming he got too close to penguins, a seal and humpback whales while filming a documentary in Antarctica.

Steve Irwin leaves behind a wife, 42-year-old Terri, and two children -eight-year-old daughter Bindi and his son Bob, two.

Fans have flooded internet message boards devoted to the 44-year-old star to pay their tributes.

On the Animal Planet site, Whitney Colbert wrote: "His compassion for the living things around him was and is truly remarkable. We've lost a great man."

Another forum member, Caligirlwithcroctattoos, posted: "At least he died doing what he loved, teaching us about the animal world. He will be missed."

Comicon + Crappys (aka Caseys)

Soooo today was the first day of the annual Comicon... we went for the evening since that was the only time that Jocelyn could go this weekend... Rushed through it a bit to look at things but picked up some good deals... Bought the entire Lost - Season 2 trading cards for $5! and, of course, a V For Vendetta "V" mask for $15 .. plus the awesome VFV bag that Arune got me was a hit!

Jocelyn picked up a book she's been wanting forever... it's.. Drew Streusen (sp?) art book .. he paints all the Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc. movie posters and such.. originally $90+ and she got it for $35! And she got the complete Superman Returns set of trading cards for $5 too! Sweeet...

Neal's gonna be there all weekend for his CBR thing so he's gonna spend more time looking around on Saturday...

Afterwards, left at 9pm when it closed and we hadn't eaten so we figured we'd go get some food.. decided on Casey's since it's nearby and there aren't many of them so we wanted to try something different... boy was that a mistake...

The three of us show up just after 9pm at the restaurant on Front St. It wasn't busy and yet we were told to wait for a table.
Fine. We were seated off to the side and given our menus. We did not see our server at ALL for about 10-15 minutes even after I made eye contact with her several times while she walked by until we had to flag another waiter down to take our order. He took the order, not looking confident about it. He didn't write anything down and left.

Another 5-10 minutes go by, our menus are all still on the table, and he THEN comes back to ask Neal what he had ordered again. First off, he didn't write anything down, secondly, why did it take him THAT long to come back to ask what his drink & food order was? It was about 15-20 minutes before we got our drink orders from when we initially placed the order.

Nonetheless, we wait. and wait and wait. We don't SEE any of the servers for over half an hour and no sign of our food. I had to get up and look for a server to ask about our food and nobody was out in the dining area or bar. Nobody was around. I saw one server come out from the kitchen and approached him, asking him if he could check on our order. We didn't order anything fancy. An appetizer, and two small entrees. He looked surprised, and we didn't see him again after that. We had arrived just after 9pm and yet our food didn't arrive till about 10:35.

Our server placed our food down, no apology, no explanation or any form of trying to "make it up to us" for having took a ridiculously long time in getting our order. She just placed our food down as if nothing was wrong. Any attempt at trying to make up for her tip was gone. If she apologized or said SOMETHING about it.. acknowledged the long wait, she'd have made up a bit of her tip.

The service was just completely ridiculous when we had just wanted to go in for a "quick" meal and it ended up taking 1.5 hours before we were out. The servers were inattentive, not even AROUND and we had to get up so many times to find them - including when we waited quite a while for them to take our payment so we could get change back, and in the end we ended up having to get up to go find them to give them our payment. So yeah. No tip. I rarely do that but it was just completely ridiculous. They even gave us MORE change than necessary! It was like.. $55 and change.. we had a $60 and they gave us back a plain ol' $5 bill.

Ugh, I was so irritated by the poor service that I basically wrote all that and sent it to the company... absolutely ridiculous.

But EEEEEE!!!! I can't WAIT to see this movie! Says Summer 2005 but I haven't heard a thing about it... Not usually a fan of longer hair on guys but I kinda like how John Krasinski has it in this movie...
